Job summary

Atrium Health is seeking a Respiratory Care Assistant to perform respiratory duties under the North Carolina Respiratory Care Board Declaratory Ruling for RCA. The role includes treatments, oxygen administration, suctioning, and ABG sampling and analysis.

The ideal candidate will hold NCRCB RCA registration, BLS for healthcare providers, and pursue advanced certification as required by the facility. A high school diploma or GED and active enrollment in a CoARC-approved program are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED; currently enrolled in an accredited Respiratory Care program (CoARC).
• Evidence of completed clinical competency evaluations in the Respiratory Program.
• BLS for healthcare providers required; advanced certification per facility/department.

Responsibilities

• Performs respiratory duties per NCRCB Declaratory Ruling for RCA.
• Performs respiratory care treatments, oxygen administration, suctioning, ABG collection and analysis.
• Follows safety guidelines and completes regulatory requirements and annual proficiency evaluations.
