Job summary

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED; enrolled in a CoARC-accredited Respiratory Care program; completion of 1 year of the program required.
• Registered with the North Carolina Respiratory Care Board as an RCA; BLS for healthcare providers required; advanced certification per facility.
• Evidence of completed clinical competency evaluations through the Respiratory Program (skills lab and didactics).

Responsibilities

• Performs respiratory duties as outlined by the NCRCB Declaratory Ruling for Respiratory Care Assistants (RCA).
• Performs respiratory care treatments, oxygen administration, suctions patients and obtains and runs ABG samples.
• Follows departmental safety guidelines and completes all regulatory requirements, including proficiency evaluations.
