Job summary

Michigan Medicine seeks a Respiratory Therapist to provide comprehensive respiratory care for neonatal, pediatric and adult patients in a hybrid work setting. You will perform advanced procedures, participate in rounds, and support care plans under supervision.

Ongoing education for patients and staff is expected, with meticulous documentation and adherence to policies. The role includes managing CPAP/BiPAP and complex respiratory therapies, completing required competencies, and collaborating

Qualifications

• College graduate with a degree in Respiratory Therapy.
• RRT certification or NBRC eligibility and licensure in Michigan.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Initiate and perform neonatal, pediatric and adult respiratory care.
• Assist in rounds with care team and contribute to care plans.
• Manage ventilator support devices and wean patients as appropriate.
• Educate patients, families and staff on respiratory care procedures.
• Document care accurately in the health record.

Education

College degree in Respiratory Therapy

Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) NBRC within 90 days

Michigan licensure as Respiratory Therapist

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate
