Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapist program.
• Bachelor's degree preferred; AS degree minimum.
• Recent graduate or two years of relevant RT experience in a tertiary hospital.
• Current Michigan license; NBRC registration required; 90 days to obtain licensure.

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory assessments and develop care plans with the healthcare team.
• Deliver hands-on patient care and life-support therapies.
• Guide and mentor Respiratory Therapy Assistants, orientees, externs, and students.
• Participate in bedside rounds and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Deliver advanced respiratory interventions, monitoring, diagnostics, and procedures.
• Maintain respiratory equipment, cleaning, and calibration for safety.
• Document care and outcomes accurately within timelines.
• Promote safety, confidentiality, and HIPAA compliance.
