Job summary

Penn Medicine seeks a Respiratory Care Practitioner to administer respiratory care across neonatal to geriatric patients, under physician oversight. You will document care, communicate therapy plans, and guide support staff in a fast-paced hospital setting.

The role requires BCLS, NBRC registry status or eligibility, and a graduation from an AMA-approved Respiratory Therapy Program. On-call duties and weekend shifts are involved.

Qualifications

• Graduate AMA approved Respiratory Therapy Program.
• Registered or registry eligible (NBRC) required/preferred.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) is required.

Responsibilities

• Administers respiratory care services per department policies and procedures.
• Confer with physicians and supervisors on patient respiratory care plans and therapy effectiveness.
• Provide guidance to respiratory technicians and assistants and document patient care.
• Interact directly with patients to explain therapy and assessments.
• Perform arterial blood sampling as ordered and manage ventilator care under physician direction.
• Participate in on-call responsibilities and act as charge therapist when required.
