Job Summary

Respiratory Therapists are eligible for a signing bonus up to $7,500 at qualifying locations. Relocation reimbursement up to $3,750 at qualifying locations.

Our Registered Respiratory Therapist II (RRT) serve as leaders of the healthcare team by establishing personalized relationships with patients and their support systems. They practice under respiratory and ventilator management protocols with a high degree of autonomy, performing procedures such as intubations and inserting arterial lines as required.

RRTs are experienced professionals demonstrating independence, rule consciousness, social boldness, and readiness for change. They uphold professional respiratory standards and foster inter-professional collaboration. These RRTs are early adopters of Novant Health’s systems, technology, and workflows. Responsibilities

The core responsibility of every Novant Health team member is to deliver an exceptional patient experience in all aspects.

• Act as a patient advocate, incorporating education into the interdisciplinary care plan.
• Prioritize duties based on patient needs and acuity, ensuring timely care interventions and medical orders.
• Administer and evaluate medication therapies, perform patient transfers, and transport patients.
• Assess patient needs and provide routine respiratory care (e.g., ABGs, bronchial hygiene therapy), as well as higher-level care in critical and emergent situations.
• Demonstrate independence in respiratory care, practicing according to state requirements and standards.
• Critical Care Specific: Ventilator management, code blue response, airway management, blood gas analysis interpretation, and protocol adherence for patient care.
