Job summary

Parkland Health and Hospital System in Dallas seeks a Respiratory Therapist to provide full respiratory care to neonatal, pediatric, and adult patients as prescribed by physicians.

Must be a graduate of an AMA-accredited Respiratory Care program; a Texas RCP license and NBRC RRT are required. ACLS/NRP preferred; orientation includes adult ICU and NICU training; may serve as a charge therapist.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA-accredited Respiratory Care program.
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates need for service using protocols, assessment, physician input, and history.
• Provides type and frequency of respiratory care per patient need.
• Applies knowledge of cardio-respiratory physiology to care practices.
• Documents activities in EMR.
• May act as preceptor to students and interns.
• May provide pulmonary diagnostic testing after training.
