Job summary

Walnut Creek Care Community is seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to assess and treat residents with breathing disorders. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality care and maintain a safe environment for our residents.

The role emphasizes administering therapy, evaluating patient progress, and ensuring compliance with regulations. A current license and strong communication skills are required.

Qualifications

• Must possess a current, unencumbered license to practice as a Respiratory Therapist in this state.
• Must understand the English language.
• Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action in a timely fashion.
• Must be knowledgeable of supply practices, procedures, and guidelines.
• Must possess the ability to minimize waste of supplies, misuse of equipment, etc.
• Must possess the ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing practices.
• Must be able to follow written and oral instructions.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct our Facility’s respiratory therapy, as well as its programs and activities, in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern nursing care facilities.
• Meet with administration, medical and nursing staff, as well as other related departments in planning therapy services.
• Represent the Facility at and participate in meetings, as directed.
• Maintain respiratory therapy standards of practice.
• Assist in standardizing the methods in which respiratory therapy will be accomplished.
• Assist in developing, implementing, and coordinating policies and procedures, resident care plans, respiratory therapy procedure manuals, job descriptions, etc.
