Job summary

Greenbriar Care Community is seeking a dedicated Respiratory Therapist to assess, treat, and care for residents with breathing disorders. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality patient care while maintaining a safe and healthful environment for our residents.

Qualifications

• Must possess a current, unencumbered license to practice as a Respiratory Therapist in this state.
• Must understand the English language.
• Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action in a timely fashion.
• Must be knowledgeable of supply practices, procedures, and guidelines.
• Must possess the ability to minimize waste of supplies, misuse of equipment, etc.
• Must possess the ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing practices.
• Must be able to follow written and oral instructions.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct respiratory therapy programs and activities in accordance with current rules and guidelines governing nursing care facilities.
• Meet with administration, medical and nursing staff to plan therapy services and represent the facility at meetings.
• Provide emergency care including artificial respiration and CPR assistance.
• Perform pulmonary function tests and adjust equipment for optimum results.
• Develop and participate in in-service education and orientation programs for staff.
