Job summary

MediLodge of Livingston is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RT) to provide clinical direction and respiratory care for residents. The role partners with management to ensure high-quality service and ongoing staff development.

The RT will assess needs, operate ventilator support, document care, and participate in regulatory compliance. Strong communication with residents, families, and medical staff is essential.

Qualifications

• CRT or RRT license and AMA-approved school graduate.
• Valid Respiratory Care Practitioner license in the state.
• CPR certification required.
• Vent Certified preferred.
• One year of respiratory therapy experience in long-term care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory services within the Practitioner scope.
• Record care data, notes, and physician communications.
• Ensure equipment storage and proper documentation.
• Handle routine mail, calls, and filing related to care.
• Assess respiratory needs and oxygen saturation; manage ventilators.
• Perform treatments and ventilator checks promptly.
• Complete TARs monthly with accurate information.
• Participate in decannulation and weaning assessments.
• Contribute to special projects and problem solving.
