Sapphire at Tigard Rehab in Tigard, OR is hiring a Respiratory Therapist to join our skilled nursing team. You will deliver specialized respiratory care, manage ventilator and oxygen therapy, and support residents with acute and chronic respiratory conditions.

You will collaborate with physicians and nurses, participate in interdisciplinary rounds, and educate staff on respiratory equipment and infection control to promote safe, effective care for our elderly residents.

Qualifications

• Active NBRC Credentials.
• Active Oregon Respiratory Care Practitioner state licensure.
• Active BLS Certification.
• Strong understanding of geriatric care and the needs of elderly residents.
• Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) systems.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks with attention to detail.
• Compassionate, patient-focused, and empathetic approach to care.

Responsabilités

• Assist with admissions and initial assessments.
• Perform and document respiratory assessments and monitor responses to therapy.
• Administer prescribed respiratory treatments (nebulizers, chest physiotherapy, aerosols).
• Manage ventilator support, CPAP/BiPAP, and oxygen.
• Set up and maintain respiratory equipment and ensure safety.
• Participate in care plan meetings and rounds.
• Educate nursing staff on devices, emergencies, and infection control.
• Assist with weaning and pulmonary rehab programs when applicable.
• Respond to respiratory emergencies with appropriate interventions.
• Maintain accurate documentation per policy and regulations.
• Ensure infection prevention and equipment sterilization standards.
• Foster safety, collaboration, and compassionate care.
