Job summary

Trinity Healthcare Talent Services seeks a Respiratory Therapist to join a geriatric care facility in Rhode Island. The RT will assess, treat, and monitor elderly patients with respiratory disorders, including ventilator patients, within a long-term care and rehabilitation setting.

You will administer oxygen and nebulizer therapies and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team. Requires a Bachelor's degree, active state license, and 2+ years of geriatrics experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field.
• Current state license to practice as a Respiratory Therapist.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience working with geriatric patients.
• Experience working in a long term care or rehabilitation setting preferred.
• Strong knowledge of respiratory disorders and treatments.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer skills and ability to use electronic medical records.

Responsibilities

• Conduct respiratory assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for patients.
• Administer and monitor respiratory treatments and therapies, such as oxygen therapy, nebulizer treatments, and chest physiotherapy.
• Monitor and maintain patients on mechanical ventilators, including troubleshooting and making adjustments as needed.
• Educate patients and their families on respiratory care and disease management.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care for patients.
• Document all patient care activities accurately and in a timely manner.

Salary Range: $40 - $42 per hour

Hours: 35 hours per week, 3/12 hour day shifts with rotating weekends
