Qualifications

• A Respiratory Therapist must have a high level of knowledge of respiratory therapy and practice required through completion of a NBRC approved and accredited program.
• Must have a current Basic Cardiac Life Support certification and current State Licensure for a Respiratory Care Practitioner.

Responsibilities

• Perform respiratory care related procedures under medical direction.
• Initiate, monitor and maintain life support systems.
• Assist in emergency cardio-pulmonary resuscitation.

Skills

Knowledge of respiratory therapy procedures

Ability to operate medical equipment

Education

Completion of a NBRC approved respiratory therapy program

One year of clinical practice experience
