Job summary

Select Medical in Rochelle Park, NJ is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RT) for night shifts (Three 12-Hour Shifts) with a competitive hourly rate and a $15,000 sign-on bonus. The team provides world-class inpatient post-ICU care for chronic, critically ill patients in a recovery hospital setting.

The RT will evaluate patients, provide respiratory care, and participate in continuous quality improvement while adhering to NBRC credentials, BLS, ACLS timelines, and state licensure requirements.

Qualifications

• Must possess NBRC CRT or RRT credential.
• BLS certification required by start date.
• Current state licensure required.
• ACLS required within 6 months of hire.
• Preferred: 1 year related experience.

Responsibilities

• Evaluating patients and recommending an appropriate treatment plan.
• Providing respiratory care to patients with critical and complex medical and surgical conditions.
• Performing insertion and removal of endotracheal tubes.
• Promoting continuous quality improvement.

Position: Respiratory Therapist (RT)

Schedule: Night Shift (Three 12-Hour Shifts, No Mandatory Overtime)

Compensation: $44.50 to $59.87 per hour (Based on years of experience with shift differentials ($4 nights/ $2 weekend))

Sign-on bonus: $15,000

Minimum Requirements

• Must possess "Active" CRT or RRT credential from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) or state equivalent.
• Proof of graduation required: college transcript/diploma (preferred) or high school transcript/diploma or GED.
• Possess a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by start date.
• Current state licensure is required.
• ACLS is required within 6 months of hire. (Agency RT must have ACLS upon first shift, PRN staff must have ACLS upon hire).

Preferred Qualifications

• One (1) year of related experience is preferred.
