Job summary

Geisinger is seeking a Respiratory Therapist Float to support Geisinger Medical Center Danville, Geisinger Bloomsburg Hospital and Geisinger Shamokin Area Community Hospital. This full-time position requires the ability to float across locations, with both day and night shifts available.

Starting minimum hiring rate is $30.40/hour with potential float premium up to $6 and shift differential of up to $5.50 for evenings, nights, and weekends.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of related work experience.
• Licensed Respiratory Therapist and NBRC Registered.

Responsibilities

• Performs and documents thorough patient assessments.
• Establishes care plans and communicates with the patient care team.
• Administers aerosolized medications and pulmonary therapy.
• Operates conventional and high frequency ventilators per protocol.
• Provides patient and family education on disease management.
• Intra-hospital transport of ventilated patients and airway management.
• Assists with discharge planning for respiratory-related DME and follows insurance guidelines.
• Adheres to safety standards and HIPAA regulations.
• Functions as Shift Coordinator after one year.
• Precepts students and orientees during rotations.
