Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to perform direct patient care across all aspects of respiratory care in our hospital setting. You will consult with physicians on therapy effectiveness and serve as an advanced resource for the care team.

Requires CoARC-approved respiratory therapy education, current RCP licensure, NBRC-approved RRT/CRT credential, and ACLS. Experience of 1 year is preferred; PALS may be required for ER staff.

Qualifications

• Graduate of CoARC approved Respiratory Care program.
• Meets state licensure requirements and has a current Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license.
• Hold the Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential awarded by the NBRC; PALS is required for ER coworkers.
• ACLS is required.
• Must have one year of experience, not including orientation time.

Responsibilities

• Performs direct patient care in all aspects of respiratory care according to physician orders.
• Consults physicians on effectiveness of therapy.
• Acts as an advanced resource person for physicians and nursing on respiratory care.
• Performs duties as assigned.
