Job summary

Accolade Healthcare in Illinois is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (CRT/RRT) to perform respiratory assessments, monitor patients, administer appropriate treatments, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to improve outcomes and reduce readmissions.

On-site position requires an active Illinois license, CRT/RRT credentials, CPR (ACLS preferred), and experience in Long Term Care or home health settings.

Qualifications

• Active CRT or RRT credentials.
• Active license in good standing with the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.
• CPR certification required; ACLS preferred.
• Experience in Long Term Care is preferred.
• Experience as a Respiratory Therapist in Home Health, LTACH, or sub-acute settings is a plus.
• This position is not a remote position.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality patient evaluation.
• Provide thorough medical record evaluation.
• Provide appropriate treatment to help residents maintain or attain the highest level of respiratory function possible.
• Evaluate, treat, and care for residents with respiratory problems including but not limited to those with tracheostomies and suctioning.
• Evaluate resident care and outcomes related to respiratory care; analyze outcomes and adjust care plans.
• Recommend and/or provide appropriate treatment and preventive measures to prevent decline in respiratory function.
• Management and weaning of supplemental oxygen.
• Management and weaning of trachs.
• Assist with pulmonary rehab modalities.
• Perform all aspects of direct respiratory patient care.
• Educate residents or caregivers to maintain respiratory function.
• Operate respiratory care equipment safely and effectively.
• Participate in staff education.
• Maintain respiratory supply stock.
• Assist nursing staff when required.
• All other duties as assigned.
