Job summary

Abington Memorial Hospital is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist to administer respiratory care, assess patient needs, and collaborate with physicians on treatment plans. The role emphasizes documentation and adherence to quality standards in a hospital setting.

The ideal candidate will hold an AMA‑approved respiratory care degree, NBRC registration or plan, and state licensure, with at least an associate degree and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA approved School of Respiratory Care.
• Licensed by the State Board of Medicine or State Board of Osteopathic Medicine.
• Registered with NBRC or obtain NBRC registration within 2 years of hire.

Responsibilities

• Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
• Administers physician prescribed respiratory therapy including oxygen and ventilation.
• Performs evaluation procedures to determine care needs and improves patient outcomes.
• Monitors patients on mechanical ventilation and ensures safe care.
• Collects specimens and analyzes lung function to aid diagnosis.
• Communicates results and treatment suggestions to the health care team.
• Ensures smooth operation of PFT/ABG labs and related duties as assigned.
