Job summary

Requirements include graduation from a two-year AMA-accredited Respiratory Therapy Program, CA Respiratory Care Practitioner license, and CPR/PALS certifications with Fire Safety

Qualifications

• Graduate of a two (2) year AMA accredited Respiratory Therapy Program.
• A minimum 1 year primary work experience as a Respiratory Therapist or completed student rotation at NHMC.
• Respiratory Care Practitioner: CA
• Basic Life Support - CPR
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support
• Fire Safety, within 90 Days

Responsibilities

• Applies clinical knowledge and expertise for coordinating patient care by regularly planning and evaluating the respiratory care of patients.
• Demonstrates effective respiratory care judgment and a working knowledge of the respiratory process.
• Guides interdisciplinary team members by supervising respiratory interventions and assisting with related tasks.
• Provides leadership by establishing priorities and coordinating respiratory care.
• Documents and communicates all observed symptoms, reactions, treatments, and changes in the patient's condition to the appropriate member of the interdisciplinary health care team.
• Coordinates plan of care with other members of the interdisciplinary health care team to achieve desired goals and outcomes.
