Job summary

MercyOne Health System in Iowa is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to assess patients, administer therapy, and collaborate with healthcare teams across age groups from neonate to geriatric.

You will perform inhaled therapies, assist with intubation, troubleshoot equipment, document care, and educate patients. This part-time role offers 24 hours weekly, a 12-hour shift schedule, and a relocation package for qualified candidates. New grads are welcome.

Qualifications

• Certificate from an accredited Respiratory Care Program (CAAHEP).
• NBRC certification as a Respiratory Therapist (CRT/RRT).
• State license as Iowa Respiratory Care Practitioner.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers within 3 months of hire.
• Mandatory Reporter abuse training within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs inhaled medication therapy and related respiratory procedures as ordered.
• Assists or performs intubation and manages artificial airways.
• Assembles, troubleshoots Respiratory Care equipment including ventilators and monitors.
• Interprets diagnostic results including blood gas analysis and pulmonary function tests.
• Maintains patient records and documentation of care and billing.
• Provides patient instruction on use of Respiratory Care devices.

Education

CAAHEP accredited Respiratory Care Program

NBRC Certified or Registered Respiratory Therapist

State of Iowa Respiratory Care Practitioner license

BLS for Healthcare Providers

Mandatory Reporter abuse training within 3 months
