Job summary

Bronson Healthcare Group seeks a Registered Respiratory Therapist for Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo. The role provides respiratory care under supervision, interprets ABGs, and collaborates with physicians, nurses, and support staff to optimize patient outcomes.

Minimum qualifications include an AS in Respiratory Therapy, Michigan license, and BLS/ACLS/PALS/NRP certifications; RRT within 1 year for hires after 2004; bachelor’s degree preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Current Michigan Respiratory Therapist license; RRT within 1 year if hired after 2004.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required per site; BLS within 3 months.

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory therapies per provider orders and department guidelines.
• Evaluate and discuss ABG results; adjust therapy as needed.
• Communicate findings and recommendations to providers and nursing staff.
• Assist with codes and emergency care (Code Blue) and transport when required.
• Educate patients and families about therapy and care plans.
