Job summary

Bronson Healthcare Group in Kalamazoo seeks a Registered Respiratory Therapist for day shifts (7a-7p) at Bronson Methodist Hospital South Campus. You will provide respiratory therapy per provider orders, monitor patients, and collaborate with physicians, nurses and staff to optimize cardiopulmonary care.

Qualifications include AS or higher in Respiratory Therapy, state license, and RRT credential within 1 year post-hire; BLS/ACLS/NRP/PALS as required.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Respiratory Therapy (AS).
• Current Respiratory Therapist license in the State of Michigan is required.
• For anyone hired after 2004, Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) is required within 1 year of hire.
• BLS/ACLS/PALS/NRP certifications per site requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provides respiratory therapy and communicates findings to physicians and nurses.
• Evaluates and monitors blood gases and adjusts therapy as needed.
• Maintains artificial airways and ventilator equipment per policy.
• Assists with emergent codes and life support per BLS/ACLS/NRP/PALS.
• Educates patients and families on therapy and equipment.
