Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking a Respiratory Therapist, CRT or RRT, for Evanston, IL at Evanston Hospital. This full-time night-shift role offers 40 hours per week and a sign-on bonus of $25,000.

You will assist physicians, provide respiratory care for neonatal to geriatric patients, document treatments, and monitor responses. Requires CoARC-accredited program graduate, RRT/CRT eligibility, IL licensure within six months, CPR, and ACLS/NRP/PALS within 24 months.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a CoARC-accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
• RRT or CRT certification or eligibility.
• Illinois licensure within six months of employment.
• Current CPR certification (AHA).
• ACLS, NRP, and PALS required within 24 months.

Responsibilities

• Assist Physicians with Respiratory Therapy procedures.
• Provide respiratory therapy to neonatal, pediatric, adult and geriatric patients as ordered.
• Assess patients to determine best method of administration of treatment.
• Document treatment, equipment maintenance and quality control activities; transcribe orders.
• Communicate treatment to patient and family clearly.
• Monitor patient response to therapy, with focus on pediatric and neonatal patients.
• Provide patient and staff education.

Job description

Hourly Pay Range: $31.75 - $49.21 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Location: Evanston Hospital - Evanston, IL

Full time | 40 hours/week

Shift: Nights, Monday-Sunday 7pm - 7am, every other weekend and rotating holiday requirements

What you will do:

• Assists Physicians, as requested with Respiratory Therapy procedures
• Provide respiratory therapy to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients as ordered by physicians according hospital policy and procedures
• Assess patients to determine most suitable method of administering treatment
• Document treatment, equipment maintenance and quality control activities and transcribe verbal or phone order by physicians
• Communicate to patient and family the treatment being performed in a clear manner
• Monitor patient physiological response to therapy with special attention to the pediatric and neonatal patients
• Provide patient and staff education

What you will need:

• Education: Graduation from a nationally accredited Respiratory Therapy program, as determined by the Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC), required.
• License/Certifications: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)/proof of registry eligible status or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT), required.
• State of Illinois Respiratory Care Practitioner licensure required within six months of employment.
• Current CPR certification issued by the American Heart Association, required.
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) required within 24 months of employment.
