Job summary

Birchwood Park Rehabilitation and Nursing is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for the Long Term Care Unit. You will assess, diagnose, and treat adult patients, administering cardio-pulmonary therapy with consideration of age and size, while maintaining compassionate resident-centered care.

Responsibilities include providing appropriate interventions, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, and recognizing limits to seek resources.

Qualifications

• An Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy or higher required.
• Licensed as VA Respiratory Care Practitioner and Respiratory Care Practitioner.
• Current BLS for Healthcare Providers (AHA).
• NBRC credentials must be renewed and current (RRT/RRT-NPS/CPFT/RPFT).
• Preferred: Bachelor's in Respiratory Therapy.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and treat the cardiopulmonary system for adult patients.
• Select and administer appropriate respiratory care interventions.
• Coordinate with care team to support wellness and healing.
• Identify limits and seek appropriate resources as needed.

You will earn a competitive hourly rate

Additional compensation includes:

• 1.5X Overtime Pay for every hour worked over 40 hours per week

Responsibilities of the Respiratory Therapist (RT):

Responsible for assessment, diagnostic and therapeutic interventions affecting the cardiopulmonary system for adults. Selects and administers the appropriate care, taking into consideration the age, development level and size of the patient. Provides a caring relationship that facilitates health and healing. Should be able to identify own limitations and seek appropriate resources, as needed.

Qualifications of the Respiratory Therapist:

• Associate's Degree
• VA Respiratory Care Practitioner License
• Respiratory Care Practitioner
• BLS for Healthcare Providers, issued by AHA
• NBRC Credentials renewed and current for all applicable credentials ( RRT, RRT-NPS, CPFT, RPFT) (Minimum for new hires post 7/1/2021)
