Inova Fairfax Hospital - Respiratory Therapist 3

Inova Fairfax Hospital is seeking a dedicated Respiratory Therapist 3 to join our team. This role is full-time, working day shifts (Monday-Friday, with a mid-week day off), at nine hours per shift. It is a float position at ambulatory sites, with PFT experience preferred. Sign-on and relocation bonuses are available.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform weaning mechanics proficiently in over 90% of ventilated patients.
• Review ventilator support needs daily with high proficiency.
• Develop and communicate ventilator care plans.
• Perform tests, collect specimens, and interpret diagnostic tests (e.g., bronchoscopy samples, complex PFTs).
• Validate results and formulate comprehensive respiratory care plans based on diagnostic data and patient response.

Additional Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of critical care experience.
• Graduate of an accredited CoARC respiratory program.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with ACLS, PALS, or NRP certification.
• Possession of an additional advanced certification or degree is preferred.
• BLS certification from AHA upon start.
• Virginia license as a Respiratory Therapist.
• Work schedule: 36 hours/week, night shift, weekends included, from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
