Job summary

Ardent Health Services is seeking a Night Shift, PRN Respiratory Therapist in Tulsa, OK. The role involves providing comprehensive respiratory care under the direction of the department Manager and Medical Director at Hillcrest Medical Center.

The ideal candidate will hold an accredited RT degree, NBRC credential, an Oklahoma license, and BLS within 14 days; ACLS within 6 months. You will contribute to high-quality patient care and collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited respiratory therapy program with required science hours.
• NBRC credential as RRT or new graduate who obtains RRT within 6 months of graduation or CRT that later earns RRT within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assess, implement, evaluate and document respiratory care per HMC standards.
• Deliver respiratory care appropriate to patient age on assigned unit.
• Administer oxygen and ventilation modalities and manage ventilators.
• Adhere to Oklahoma Respiratory Care Practice Act and regulatory requirements.
• Demonstrate awareness of end-of-life care in patient management.

• Hillcrest Medical Center is a 656-bed hospital that includes The Alexander Burn Center, The Peggy V. Helmerich Women’s Health Center, Kaiser Rehabilitation Center, the latest technology for the treatment of cancer, and the Oklahoma Heart Institute.

• Individuals within this job classification are accountable for assessing, implementing, evaluating and documenting respiratory care in accordance with HMC standards and under the direction of the department Manager and Medical Director in order to deliver efficient, effective and quality respiratory care.
• The Registered Respiratory Therapist must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide respiratory care appropriate to the age of the patients served on the assigned unit.
• This individual is responsible for the administration of oxygen, various treatment modalities, and ventilator management.
• He/she is expected to adhere to and abide by the rules and regulations set forth by the Oklahoma Respiratory Care Practice Act.
• Must be able to demonstrate awareness and appropriateness in the care of patients at end of life.

Job Requirements:

• Graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy education program (CoARC or CAAHP) with minimally 20 quarter hours of science (A.S. degree required/ B.S. degree preferred).
• NBRC credential as a RRT or new graduate that obtains RRT NBRC credential within 6 months of graduation and or a newly hired CRT that obtains RRT within 6 months of hire.
• Active Oklahoma Respiratory Care Professional License as outlined by the OK Medical Board.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
• Must obtain ACLS, within 6 months of hire.
