- Hillcrest Medical Center is a 656‑bed hospital that includes The Alexander Burn Center, The Peggy V. Helmerich Women’s Health Center, Kaiser Rehabilitation Center, the latest technology for the treatment of cancer, and the Oklahoma Heart Institute.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with health care team members in planning patient care
- Verify orders and administer aerosolized medication, bronchial hygiene, volume expansion, oxygen & medical gas therapy
- Perform ventilator management, weaning, waveform graphic interpretation; airway management (intubation, extubating, trach tube change and care)
- Perform arterial blood gas sampling & analysis
- Educate patients and mentor/precept new employees, students, and peers
- Location‑specific: Assist in invasive & noninvasive procedures, Cardiac Service procedures & Pulmonary Diagnostic Testing
- Complete patient care, documentation, and education
- Promote current and accurate electronic orders, charting and charging
- Promote a high level of patient safety (Medication Safety, NPSG, etc.)
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy education program (CoARC or CAAHP) with a minimum of 20 quarter hours of science
- NBRC credential as a CRT or RRT
- Active Oklahoma Respiratory Care Professional License as outlined by the OK Medical Board
- BLS certification obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care
- Must obtain ACLS within 6 months of hire
