Job summary

Ardent Health Services is seeking a Night Shift Respiratory Therapist in Claremore, OK to join our compassionate care team.

You will provide respiratory care across Labor and Delivery, medsurg, ICU and ED, administer therapies, respond to emergencies, and participate in department education and QA programs while meeting licensing and credential requirements.

Qualifications

• Associated Degree in Respiratory Care (required).
• Minimum 1 year of experience (preferred).
• Oklahoma CRT license required upon hire (Oklahoma Registered Respiratory Therapist may be required).
• ACLS/NRP/BLS certifications as specified by hire timelines.

Responsibilities

• Operate and set up respiratory equipment for diagnosis and treatment across Labor and Delivery, medsurg, recovery, ICU and ED.
• Administer respiratory gases and medications; manage modes of therapy for respiratory patients.
• Respond to emergencies; assist in ABG interpretation and arterial blood gas sampling.
• Transport mechanically ventilated patients or those on noninvasive ventilation; assist with department supplies.
• Participate in departmental in-service/education, QA programs, and meetings.
• Work schedule includes alternate weekends and holidays; participate in on-call duties.

Get to Know Your Team:

• Hillcrest Hospital Claremore is a 49-bed acute care medical center offering a wide range of inpatient and outpatient services, including maternity and women’s services, ICU and cardiology services in the advanced cardiac catheterization lab.

• The Registered Respiratory Therapist and Certified Respiratory Therapy Technician are capable of setting up and operating various types of equipment to be utilized in the diagnosis and treatment of respiratory disease and or illness in Labor and Delivery, medsurg, recovery, intensive care and Emergency room to all age groups.
• The therapist provides administration of respiratory specific gases and medications, and modes of therapy for the respiratory compromised patient.
• Responds to emergencies throughout the hospital.
• Advises on arterial blood gas results and assist with obtaining ABG’s.
• Assists in the transport of mechanically ventilated patients and patients on noninvasive ventilation.
• May assist in the ordering of department supplies.
• Takes and records verbal and telephone orders from physicians as necessary.
• Attend deliveries and initiate neonatal nasal cpap and mechanical ventilation.
• Takes an active part in attending departmental in-service/education programs.
• Participates in Quality Assurance programs and participates in department meetings.
• Work schedule includes working alternate weekends and holidays.
• Participates in taking call. Performs all other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

• Associated Degree in Respiratory Care
• A minimum of 1 year of experience
• Oklahoma CRT license (upon hire)
• RRT license for Registered Respiratory Therapist ONLY (upon hire)
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
• ACLS (within 30 days of hire)
• NRP (within 60 days of hire)

Preferred Job Requirements:

• 3+ years of experience.
