Qualifications

• Requires associate degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited program.
• Licenses and certifications including Respiratory Care Practitioner, RRT, and Basic Cardiovascular Life Support.
• Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in related field.
• Experience not required; ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Educates patients, families, students, and staff on respiratory treatments and procedures, utilizing diverse teaching methods.
• Performs diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory procedures following established standards and guidelines, utilizing clinical knowledge to troubleshoot as needed.
• Supports advanced clinical tasks such as ECMO, mechanical ventilation, bronchoscopies, sleep studies, and cardiopulmonary rehabilitation.
• Continuously seeks learning opportunities and manages multiple duties efficiently.

Provides direct respiratory care activities, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation within hospital and department guidelines. Demonstrates advanced clinical expertise, serving as a resource to the healthcare team, ensuring patient safety through developmentally appropriate care while adhering to quality and regulatory standards.
