Job Description

Night Shift 12 hours/day 3 days/week

Title: Respiratory Therapist Location: Milwaukee Wisconsin 53215 Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 12hr Night Shift (36)

Shift Information: Nights

Clinical Interviewing- Yes, Manager to review any offers

On Call, Call Back Requirements: No

Weekend Rotation: Every other

Holiday Requirements: Assigned as needed

Floating Requirements: float to all units within the hospital

About Facility:

• Level III NICU
• Magnet Designated
• Beds: 933

Unit Information:

• Beds: N/A

Minimum Years of Experience required: 1 year Will you accept a first-time traveler: Upon review

• Mostly geriatrics and adults, some peds in the ED
• Case Load:
  • Case load will vary depending on acuity. Typical case load is 10-15 patients for general floor assignment, 6-8 patients for ICU assignment

Required License, National Certification, Certs:

• BLS, ACLS
• Will accept RRT or CRT

Skills required:

• Vent management, CPAP, BiPap, Nebs, a-line placement, assisting providers with intubation, vent weaning, extubation, ABGs

Support within the Department:

• Other RTs
• RNs on the floor
• Dayshift staffing is 13-15 RTs

Technology/Equipment:

• EMR: EPIC
• IV Pump: N/A
• Med dispensing: Pyxis
• Monitors
• Unit specific equipment: AVEA vents, Servo U Vent, LPU 1200 Vents, Parapack vents for MRI, Hamilton vents for transport

Floating:

• Float to all units at the hospital

Orientation (facility and unit) :

• NEO
• At least 1 shift to learn the flow

Scheduling:

• Weekend rotation: Every other
• Holiday Expectations: assigned as needed
• Approval of RTO: ok to approve up to 7 days off
• Schedule cycle: Block scheduling will not be accommodated
• AAH adheres to fatigue policy where all staff, including travelers, cannot work more than 60 hours in a week or 5 consecutive 12hour shifts
• Overtime could be available, depending on needs
