Job summary

Heinzerling Community in Columbus, OH seeks a compassionate Respiratory Therapist to oversee respiratory care for residents, including those on ventilators. The RT will maintain documentation, equipment, and staff training under the Medical Director’s orders.

Position offers full-time, part-time, or PRN with day or night shifts. Pay starts at $35.00/hour plus $2.00/hour shift differential and $2.00/hour weekend differential, plus strong benefits in a mission-driven nonprofit setting.

Qualifications

• Valid Ohio license or permit for practicing Respiratory care.
• Chronic care and experience with ventilators preferred.
• Experience with the Developmental Disabilities population and highly complex continuous needs preferred. Must maintain CPR and First Aid certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality respiratory therapy services for Heinzerling Community residents using state-of-the-art patient monitoring equipment
• Manage acute and chronic respiratory care for residents in collaboration with the Medical Director and Nursing team
• Assist in the development and maintenance of respiratory-related policies and procedures
• Provide training for staff who are working with residents needing respiratory assistance
• Assess knowledge and skills of staff who provide direct respiratory services
• Develop respiratory-related education for staff and families and train them annually and as needed to ensure competency
• Evaluate, track, and maintain respiratory-related equipment

Position Summary

The Respiratory Therapist is responsible for overseeing respiratory care under the orders of the Medical Director. The RT is also responsible for completion of all documentation, communication, maintenance of respiratory equipment, and continuing training of staff related to respiratory needs of residents, including those receiving ventilator support.

Pay Rates & Available Shifts

The pay starts at $35.00/hour, with an additional $2.00/hour shift differential and $2.00/hour weekend shift differential.

Day or night shifts are available. Status includes full-time, part-time, or PRN.

Requirements

• Valid Ohio license or permit for practicing Respiratory care
• Chronic care and experience with ventilators preferred
• Experience with the Developmental Disabilities population and experience with individuals with highly complex continuous needs is preferred. Must maintain current certification in CPR and First Aid
