Job Summary

This job is responsible for evaluating, administering, addressing, and documenting a variety of respiratory therapy treatments to ambulatory and non-ambulatory patients with heart and lung abnormalities, in assigned hospital settings including intensive care and emergency rooms. Work includes setting up and monitoring complex respiratory equipment such as ventilators for critical care patients, performing routine therapies like oxygen and aerosol treatments, and airway care including intubation and tracheotomy care. The therapist monitors patients for adverse reactions, takes corrective actions, and collaborates with physicians on treatment adjustments.

Responsibilities

• Perform respiratory patient care procedures including Aerosol Therapy, ABGs, ETTs, Bronchus, ECGs, CPT, Vent Care, CPAP/BIPAP, and other procedures according to safety and procedural standards.
• Evaluate and assess patients' cardiopulmonary condition using physical exams, monitoring data, and diagnostic tools.
• Document all activities accurately in the computer system, including billing.
• Assist in transferring equipment and supplies, maintain and restock equipment as needed.

Qualifications

Education/Work Experience: Graduation from an approved Respiratory Therapy program and at least one year of recent clinical experience in Respiratory Care. Specialty experience is preferred.

Licensure/Certification:

• License as a respiratory care practitioner in Washington State.
• Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
• Current BLS certification.
• Hyperbaric medicine practitioners must attend specialized training and obtain certification within specified timelines.

This location requires quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post-hire, maintained internally.
