Job summary

Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center in Las Vegas, NV, is seeking a Respiratory Care Practitioner II PRN to deliver direct patient respiratory care, assess status, and support ICU and general care areas.

The role requires NBRC certification, Nevada license, BLS and ACLS, and recent acute-care experience. You may work in adult ICU, PICU, or NICU settings depending on patient needs.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited Respiratory Program.
• Licensed by the Nevada State Board of Medical Examiners.
• Nevada State license to perform arterial blood gases.
• Registered or Certified by the National Board of Respiratory Care.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• Current ACLS required.
• Must have current/recent acute care Respiratory Therapist experience within the last 12 months, and 1 year experience in an acute care facility or freestanding practice is required.
• Prefer experience in all facets of cardiopulmonary respiratory care in a major tertiary clinical referral center.
• Prefer Adult Critical Care and Ventilator management experience.

Responsibilities

• You will assess, plan, direct and implement necessary activities for successful treatment of patients’ respiratory care needs.
• You may work in an intensive care setting.
• You will be assigned to general care areas and may also be assigned to critical care areas.

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Respiratory Care Practitioner II demonstrates basic knowledge and skills necessary to direct care appropriate to the patients served in his/her department. The Respiratory Care Practitioner II demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the lifespan, assesses the patient’s status and interprets the information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to age-specific needs. The Respiratory Care Practitioner II provides care as needed and as described in the department’s policies and procedures.

In this role:

• You will assess, plan, direct and implement necessary activities for successful treatment of patients’ respiratory care needs.
• You may work in an intensive care setting.
• You will be assigned to general care areas and may also be assigned to critical care areas.

Qualifications:

• You must demonstrate competency in at least 1 of the following areas:
• a. Adult ICUs
• b. PICU
• c. NICU
• Graduate of an Accredited Respiratory Program.
• Licensed by the Nevada State Board of Medical Examiners.
• Nevada State license to perform arterial blood gases.
• Registered or Certified (determined by level of testing) by the National Board of Respiratory Care.
• Current Basic Life Support BLS required
• Current ACLS required
• Must have current/recent acute care Respiratory Therapist experience within the last 12 months, and 1 year experience in an acute care facility or freestanding practice is required.
• Prefer experience in all facets of cardiopulmonary respiratory care in a major tertiary clinical referral center.
• Prefer Adult Critical Care and Ventilator management experience.
