Qualifications

• Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Nevada.
• Associates Degree in Nursing or higher, BSN preferred.
• Minimum 2 years experience in Acute Care OR or Surgical Center as an RN.
• ACLS, Basic Life Support (BLS), and PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support.

Responsibilities

• Provide preventative and intra-operative care to patients.
• Act as patient advocate and participate as a member of the surgical team.
• Supervise OR suite and equipment, ensuring sterility and readiness of supplies.
• Prepare patients for procedures and anticipate care needs during surgery.
• Verify patient identification per chart and ID band.
• Maintain awareness of OR schedule and patient flow; ensure timely turnover.
• Assist anesthesia provider as required.
• Document and maintain patient records.

Education

Job Summary and Qualifications

Seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse to join our dynamic team of healthcare professionals. In this role you will provide the best possible preventative and supportive intra-operative care to each patient based upon their individual needs and are looking for a team member who feels patient care is as meaningful as we do. • You will be responsible for the general well-being of the patient during the operative period
• You will act as the patient advocate, reviewing operative permit to ensure correctness of procedure. Functions as a member of the surgical team
• You will supervise care of the OR suite and equipment to ensures cleanliness, sterility, operation and availability of all necessary supplies and equipment and assists in opening sterile supplies
• You will prepare patient physically, mentally, and emotionally for surgical procedure and anticipates patient care needs during the procedure
• You will verify identification of patient according to person, chart, and ID band
• You will maintain awareness of OR schedule to ensure patient flow
• Ensure timely turnover of room for next case
• You will assist anesthesia provider as required
• You will document and maintain patient record and chart to ensure an accurate record of medical treatment

What qualifications you will need:

• Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Nevada
• Graduate of Accredited School of Nursing.
• Associates Degree in Nursing or higher,BSN preferred
• Minimum 2 years experience in Acute Care OR or Surgical Center as an RN
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support
• Basic Cardiac Life Support
• PALS Pediatric Adv Life Supt
