The role you’ll contribute:

The respiratory care equipment technician works under the supervision of the respiratory department leadership team and with the guidance of licensed respiratory care practitioners. Responsibilities include preparing, transporting, setting up, and checking respiratory care equipment in both routine and emergency situations, including managing and distributing medical gas cylinders to all patient care areas.

• Communicates courteously with internal and external customers. Responds promptly to departments regarding respiratory supplies and medical gas issues.
• Demonstrates appropriate phone etiquette.
• Respects co-workers and develops positive working relationships with other departments.
• Provides non-direct patient care support services for the respiratory therapy department.
• Manages and distributes medical gas cylinders, including inventory and transportation to all patient care areas (including CVOR, Endoscopy, Main OR, Labor & Delivery, Radiology, Neonatal Transport, and Cath Lab).

Qualifications

The expertise and experiences needed to succeed:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a hospital setting preferred.
• Previous hospital materials management experience preferred.
• Valid American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (within 90 days of hire).
