Job Summary and Qualifications

The Pharmacy Technician II is responsible for performing advanced and basic pharmacy technician functions accurately and timely. Duties may include operating Automated Dispensing Cabinets (ADCs) and other specialized tasks assigned by pharmacy management.

In this role, you will:

  • Demonstrate relevant theoretical knowledge.
  • Apply known solutions to predictable problems.
  • Perform processes requiring well-developed skills with discretion and judgment.
  • Interpret information using discretion and judgment.
  • Take responsibility for your work and learning.
  • Maintain medication inventory, storage, and security per regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation logs, work records, and safety checks.
  • Interact with hospital personnel in person and by phone.
  • Perform basic billing functions.
  • Perform accurate calculations.
  • Compound and label medications and admixtures safely and accurately.
  • Package and prepare medications for dispensing.
  • Transport medications and supplies timely and accurately to appropriate areas.

Job Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 1 year of hospital pharmacy experience.
  • IV Certification required.
  • National Certification (CPhT) preferred.
  • Active Registered Pharmacy Technician or equivalent license in good standing with the State Board of Pharmacy.
  • Must obtain CPhT certification within 6 months of employment start date.
  • State registration or license as required by the state.
