The role you’ll contribute:

Actively participates in outstanding customer service and maintains respectful relationships with all. The primary responsibility is medication distributive functions and pharmacy operational tasks, including assisting the pharmacist with preparing and dispensing medications, inventory management, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Performs duties necessary for the effective daily operation of all department services and programs. Accurately responds to medication dispensing requests, prepares medications for pharmacist review, delivers checked medications, and manages unused or expired medications appropriately.

• Performs all pharmacy technician functions and maintains proficiency in standard work parameters, hospital and pharmacy-specific computer systems, and operational programs.
• Maintains operational expertise and competency, providing coverage in at least two of the following areas:
• Central/distributive pharmacy operations
• Sterile compounding

Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ year of hospital pharmacy experience (retail or ambulatory experience acceptable for medication history function in lieu of hospital experience)
  • Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPT-LIC) or current, valid State Pharmacist Intern license, depending on state regulations
  • Pharmacy Intern (PHARMINTERN)
