Job summary

Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, ME is seeking a Trainee Respiratory Therapist for a per diem role. The trainee will perform respiratory therapies and pulmonary diagnostic procedures under supervision, with focus on learning assessment, planning, implementation and documentation of patient care.

The position supports a developing clinician pathway, requires enrollment in a CoARC accredited program, a Maine trainee license, and BLS certification, with compensation around $22.26 per hour

Qualifications

• State of Maine Respiratory Care Trainee license required by hire and maintained.
• BLS certification by hire and maintained.
• Enrolled in CoARC accredited respiratory program and complete first year of clinical rotations.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Perform respiratory therapeutic and pulmonary diagnostic procedures as ordered by the provider.
• Assist in assessment, planning, implementation and documentation of care.
• Work under the direction of a registered or certified therapist.
• Training to advance knowledge and skills as competency increases.

Education

State of Maine Respiratory Care Trainee license

BLS certification (AHA/ARC)

Enrolled in CoARC accredited respiratory program
