Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Respiratory Care Supervisor to lead the respiratory team and ensure delivery of safe, high-quality care. You will supervise staff, develop competencies, and participate in planning and evaluating operations, technology, and care plans.

Direct patient care, monitoring, and collaboration with the health care team will be key aspects of the role. The position emphasizes adherence to policies, staff development, and acting as a clinical resource with strong interpersonal skills

Qualifications

• Graduate from an Accredited College Program in Respiratory Care.
• Must hold a current license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) in the state of practice.
• Five or more years of experience.
• Registered as a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by NBRC; BLS may obtain upon hire.
• May substitute RRT with 10 years leadership experience and CRT certification by NBRC.
• Strong interpersonal skills and conflict resolution; critical thinking; adaptability.

Responsibilities

• Supervises the Respiratory staff to ensure safe, quality respiratory care following policies, procedures, protocols and guidelines.
• Develops staff and encourages adherence to hospital policy.
• Assists in planning, implementation and evaluation of operations, technique and technology for appropriate respiratory care.
• Delivers respiratory care services by direct patient care; monitors patient conditions.
• Collaborates with the healthcare team with open communication; serves as a clinical resource for coworkers, patients and visitors.
