Qualifications

• Requires an Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy and RRT licensure.
• At least 3 years of progressive professional experience as a Respiratory Therapist.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required; ACLS and/or PALS preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• AARC membership is preferred; advanced credentials are valued.

Responsibilities

• Supervises the daily work activities of Respiratory Care Practitioners and students.
• Serves as a resource on advanced respiratory therapy and practice.
• Guides staff on complex assessments and treatment procedures.
• Participates in training and orientation of staff and students.
• Performs a variety of respiratory care treatments for adult, pediatric, or neonatal patients.
• Monitors patient signs, vitals, and response to therapies.
• Collaborates with LIP during rounds to adjust treatment plans.
• Ensures compliance with Joint Commission, State, Federal, and department standards.
• Administers therapies and ventilator support; adjusts settings as needed.
• Reviews interventions by interpreting chest x-rays and blood gas results.
• Documents patient care accurately in EHR systems.
• Engages in performance improvement and quality initiatives.
• Supports education activities for students and staff.
