Job summary

Methodist Hospital Stone Oak is seeking a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RRT) to join our team in caring for patients with pulmonary disorders. You will assess, treat and manage respiratory therapies, operating devices like ventilators and gas delivery, while adhering to physician orders and patient care plans.

The ideal candidate will hold Texas licensure as a Respiratory Care Practitioner, have NBRC credentials (RRT or CRT), and possess BLS with ACLS within 90 days.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved Respiratory Therapy Program.
• 1 year of Respiratory Therapy experience preferred.
• Must hold Texas Respiratory Care Practitioner license.
• NBRC credential (RRT or CRT) required.
• BLS on hire; ACLS within 90 days.
• PALS/NRP within 90 days if department requires.

Responsibilities

• Operate and set up respiratory devices per treatment parameters.
• Provide emergency care including ventilation and CPR support.
• Collect and analyze arterial blood gases and interpret results.
• Follow physician orders and assess therapy needs.
• Monitor patient response using vital signs, ABG, auscultation, SpO2, and ETCO2.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses and care team to adjust care plan.
