Job summary

Mercy Health is hiring a Respiratory Care Practitioner I at St. Rita's Medical Center. The role involves providing respiratory care across assessments, planning, interventions, and education.

You will monitor patient responses, operate oxygen therapy, ventilation, and related treatments, and support precepting and education activities. The position requires current licensure, NBRC credential, and BLS; ACLS/PALS are preferred.

Qualifications

• Current Respiratory Care License in the state they are working
• NBRC credentialed (required)
• RRT (preferred)
• BLS Basic Life Support (required)
• ACLS (preferred)
• PALS (preferred)
• Valid Driver's License (required for Home Care/DME)
• 6 months Respiratory Therapy experience in a general care area (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Perform respiratory care procedures per physician orders and adapt based on patient response.
• Assess patient status through physical assessment and chart review to guide therapy.
• Educate patients and families on inhalation therapies and care plans.
• Set up and manage oxygen therapy and ventilator support.
• Monitor and document patient responses, vitals and therapy effectiveness.
• Assist with bronchoscopy and tracheostomy procedures as needed.
• Maintain respiratory therapy equipment and supplies.
• Respond to cardio-pulmonary emergencies as required.
