Job summary

Essentia Health is seeking a Respiratory Care Student for St. Marys Medical Center. You will perform non-critical respiratory modalities for pediatric to adult patients, including neb treatments and oxygen setup, under supervision of an RCP.

Active enrollment in a JRCRTE program or graduate status is required, with BCLS certification or plan to obtain within 1 month. This 0.4 FTE role offers day/evening shifts in a team-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Must have completed at least 2 semesters of a JRCRTE-approved program for respiratory care practitioners, or be a graduate. If not yet graduated, actively enrolled while employed.
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification or ability to obtain within 1 month from date of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform non-critical modalities on pediatric through adult patients, including hand-held nebulizer treatments, oxygen therapy setup and arterial punctures.
• Assist with cleaning and stocking of equipment and supplies as directed by staff practitioners and manager.
• Provide high-level customer service to patients, coworkers, and others under supervision of the Respiratory Care Practitioner.

In some instances, may also be responsible for cleaning and stocking of certain equipment and supplies, as directed by staff practitioners and manager. The Intern is under the supervision of the Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) to assure optimal clinical outcomes.
