Job summary

Essentia Health’s St. Joseph’s Medical Center is seeking a Respiratory Care Practitioner to provide emergent, critical, and restorative respiratory care in an acute inpatient setting.

You will manage ventilation, airway support, ABG puncture, and medication delivery, while educating patients and families about care plans. Responsibilities include bronchoscopy assistance, critical care transport, and coordinating with the care team across day/night rotating 12-hour shifts.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited respiratory care program.
• Board certification preferred: NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist.
• Hold and maintain state licensure or have started licensure process within 30 days of hire.
• BCLS certification within 1 month of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide emergent, critical and restorative respiratory care through assessment, intervention, education and evaluation.
• Perform mechanical ventilation management and airway management.
• Assist bronchoscopy, critical care transport, arterial blood gas puncture, and medication delivery.
• Educate patients and families about care and treatment plans.

Within the acute care inpatient hospital setting, performs all general and critical care respiratory care procedures and diagnostics on patients ages neonate through adult.
