Job summary

Springfield Technical Community College seeks a Clinical Instructor/Assistant Professor to oversee respiratory care clinical and lab experiences, integrating patient simulation into the curriculum. You will coordinate with faculty, program director, and clinical sites to ensure aligned didactic and clinical education, while supervising students and maintaining records.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential.
• Must have an unencumbered RRT license in Massachusetts.
• Graduate of a CoARC accredited respiratory care program (AAS or BS).
• Must have at least a baccalaureate degree from a regionally or nationally accredited institution.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience as an RRT.
• Minimum of one (1) year teaching experience in a CoARC accredited respiratory care program.
• Must pass background check (CORI/SORI), 13-panel drug test, and all medical requirements including vaccinations.
• Must complete CastleBranch onboarding within two weeks of hire.
• Must complete CoARC Key Personnel training within one month of hire.
• Current American Heart Association BLS Healthcare Provider CPR certification; ACLS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates and teaches patient care in clinical units to respiratory students.
• Supervises students while performing patient care and directs rotations to specialized units.
• Maintains records of students' clinical experiences and performance.
• Liaises between the college, part-time instructors, and clinical sites.
• Evaluates student progress weekly via verbal feedback and written evaluations.
• Ensures confidentiality and supports diverse student populations and the college mission.
