Responsibilities

• Help administer respiratory therapies such as oxygen and chest physiotherapy.
• Clean and sterilize equipment to prevent infection.
• Assist with emergency resuscitation and notify healthcare team when needed.

Job Summary

Salary range: $22.81-$32.62. Pay is based on experience.

Essential Functions

• -Assists with patient assessments by gathering information about patients’ respiratory conditions by taking vital signs, measuring oxygen levels, and monitoring breathing patterns.
• -Prepares equipment for respiratory therapy treatments, such as oxygen tanks, nebulizers, and ventilators.
• -Keeps accurate records of patient assessments, treatment plans, and progress.
• -Helps with the administration of respiratory therapy treatments, such as oxygen therapy, chest physiotherapy, and breathing exercises.
• -Cleans and sterilizes equipment after each use to prevent the spread of infection.
• -In the event of an emergency, assists with resuscitation efforts and notifies the healthcare team.

Must be enrolled in a Respiratory Therapy Program, Basic Life Support [BLS Certification] - Data Conversion - Various Issuers preferred

Experience

Experience working in respiratory care 0-1 year preferred

• Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology of the respiratory system.
• Knowledge of respiratory therapy techniques and equipment.
• Proficiency in performing basic respiratory care interventions such as oxygen therapy and airway management.
• Ability to perform patient assessments and monitor patient progress.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot equipment and patient issues.
• Ability to adapt in changing situations and respond appropriately in emergency situations.
