Resource Manager, Extended Workforce Program
About the Role
The Extended Workforce Program supports a growing contingent workforce across engineering, manufacturing, and corporate functions. We are seeking a Resource Manager for an initial 6-month contract engagement to own the upstream contractor management process, from requisition intake through contractor start date.
In this role, you will manage requisitions, partner with staffing agencies, coordinate interviews, track extensions, and ensure contractor requests move forward without bottlenecks. You will report to the Senior Manager and work closely with an Operations Specialist and Operations Coordinator, as well as assignment managers and staffing partners.
Engagement Type: Contract
Duration: Initial 6 months, with potential for extension
What You'll Do
- Own the contractor requisition pipeline from intake through start date, including gathering requirements such as role, rate, duration, location, and clearance level.
- Enter and maintain contractor and requisition information in applicable tracking systems and ensure requests continue progressing.
- Coordinate with staffing partners on candidate submissions, interview scheduling, rate negotiations, and start-date logistics.
- Schedule contractor interviews across staffing agency candidates, assignment managers, site leads, and other stakeholders.
- Keep assignment managers informed about contractor status, extensions, performance matters, and issues that arise during engagements.
- Manage the contractor end-date calendar, proactively flag upcoming expirations, initiate extension workflows, and follow through on outstanding actions.
- Track and clear extension backlogs by coordinating with business approvers and other stakeholders.
- Maintain staffing partner pipeline data, including candidate submissions, current status, next steps, and process bottlenecks.
- Respond promptly to inquiries from assignment managers and staffing partners through Slack and other contingent workforce channels.
- Assist with rate benchmarking by gathering compensation data to support rate guidance by role, level, and location.
- Maintain SOPs, Confluence documentation, and process playbooks covering requisition management and staffing partner workflows.
- Provide broader operational support as needed, including onboarding coordination, JIRA ticket triage, and shared inbox management.
What We're Looking For
- 3–5 years of experience in staffing coordination, resource management, recruiting operations, or contingent workforce program support.
- Experience working directly with staffing agencies or an MSP, with a strong understanding of candidate submissions, bill rates, SOWs, and markup structures.
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage dozens of open requisitions, multiple agency relationships, and competing stakeholder timelines.
- Experience with JIRA, Rippling or a similar HRIS, and Slack.
- A responsive, proactive communication style that builds confidence with assignment managers and staffing partners.
- Experience coordinating interviews at scale across time zones, multiple interviewers, and external candidates.
- Ability to shift comfortably between strategic coordination and tactical execution, from pipeline reviews to resolving operational backlogs.
- Familiarity with contingent workforce compliance requirements, including background checks, ITAR, and SSCR, is strongly preferred.
- Experience within the defense industry or government contracting environment is a plus but not required.
