Job summary

RCM Healthcare Services is seeking a Special Education Teacher / Resource Teacher in Grand Rapids, MI. You will provide specialized instruction to students with disabilities under IEPs, manage a caseload, and collaborate with teachers, staff, and families in resource and general education settings.

The position is onsite for the school year, with a Monday–Friday schedule, full-time hours, and compensation at an hourly rate up to $50 per hour.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or appropriate degree required for Michigan special education teacher certification.
• Experience with students with disabilities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage an assigned caseload of special education students, including IEPs, REEDs, and MDRs.
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs while providing academic support in resource room and general education settings.
• Measure student skills and progress using appropriate assessment and testing instruments and maintain accurate documentation.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, and school staff regarding accommodations, testing, discipline, and delivery of appropriate special education services.
• Participate in Child Find activities and Special Education PLCs and complete all required special education reports and documentation.
• Maintain accurate digital and/or paper files for special education students.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Position Summary

As a Special Education Teacher / Resource Teacher, you will provide specialized instruction and academic support to students with disabilities in accordance with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). The teacher will manage an assigned special education caseload, provide services in resource and general education settings, and collaborate with teachers, administrators, families, and school staff to support student success. The role requires strong organization, communication, documentation, and knowledge of special education procedures and compliance requirements.

Key Duties

Requirements

Education

Licenses & Certifications

• Required: Valid Michigan Special Education teaching certification.
• Additional certifications: None specified.

Skills
