Job summary

Lane Library at Stanford Medicine seeks a Resource Sharing Librarian (Librarian 2) to oversee interlibrary loan and document delivery, supervise staff, and coordinate remote storage and access services for faculty, researchers, and students.

The role includes guiding resource sharing initiatives, liaising with subject areas including Rare Books, and teaching sessions on library resources and research tools in a dynamic academic health sciences environment.

Qualifications

• Advanced Degree in Library Science or a relevant discipline with two+ years of library experience.
• Two+ years of experience in resource sharing and interlibrary loan, document delivery, or related services.
• Strong written and oral communication; attention to detail and customer service orientation.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and perform administrative aspects of Resource Sharing Services, including operations, analytics, and policy development.
• Lead and represent Lane Library in professional settings on resource sharing initiatives and service development.
• Supervise Document Delivery/Interlibrary Loan operations (.5 FTE) and coordinate system upgrades with staff.
• Manage remote storage transfers and shipments; analyze storage and access needs for preservation and access.
• Evaluate and recommend improvements to library operations, tools, and services.
• Catalog and select materials in assigned areas, maintain bibliographic links and access.
• Provide research assistance and liaison services to designated subject areas, including Rare Books.
• Teach classes and guided tours; assist with donor relations and loan negotiations for external exhibitions.
