Job summary

Lane Library, Stanford Medicine seeks a Resource Sharing Librarian (Librarian 2) to oversee daily interlibrary loan and document delivery operations, coordinate remote storage transfers, and serve as a liaison to assigned subject areas including Rare Books. This role reports to the Manager of Access Services on the Stanford campus with potential telecommuting 2-3 days on-site.

Qualifications

• Advanced Degree in Library Science or a relevant discipline with two+ years of library experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and perform administrative aspects of Resource Sharing Services, including daily operations, reporting, and service improvement.
• Represent Lane Library in professional settings on resource sharing matters and lead initiatives.
• Supervise Document Delivery/Interlibrary Loan operations (0.5 FTE) and coordinate system upgrades.
• Manage remote storage transfers and shipments, ensuring accessibility of materials.
• Evaluate and recommend improvements to library operations, tools, and services.
• Catalog books, serials, government documents, and other materials and maintain bibliographic links.
• Serve as liaison to assigned subject areas and provide reference/instruction support.
• Teach classes, lead tours, and demonstrate library resources and systems to patrons and staff.
